Turkish Beyti Kebab with Yogurt and Spicy Butter Sauce

Crispy oven-baked Beyti kebab made with spiced beef, wrapped in lavash, and served with creamy yogurt and rich butter sauce. Easy Turkish classic at home.

Ingredients
  

Meat Filling

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 red onion, finely grated or chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped
For Wrapping
  • 4 flour tortillas or lavash bread
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
Butter Sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp red pepper powder
To Serve
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture
    In a large bowl, combine:
    minced beef
    onion
    garlic
    parsley
    salt, pepper, and paprika
    Mix well (or knead) until the mixture is fully combined and slightly sticky.
  2. Assemble the Wraps
    Lay out the tortillas or lavash bread.
    Spread the meat mixture thinly and evenly over each one.
  3. Roll and Slice
    Roll each flatbread tightly into a log.
    Slice into bite-sized pieces.
    (Optional: Thread pieces onto skewers for a more traditional presentation.)
  4. Bake
    Place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    Lightly drizzle with olive oil.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (fan) for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and fully cooked.
  5. Prepare the Butter Sauce
    Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat.
    Add the red pepper powder and stir briefly until fragrant.
  6. Serve
    Spread yogurt onto the base of a serving plate.
    Arrange the baked Beyti pieces on top.
    Drizzle generously with the butter sauce.
    Finish with pomegranate seeds and fresh parsley.

Notes

Spread the meat thinly for even cooking and better texture.
Bake until slightly crispy for a more authentic result.
